Making your scrapbooking page ideas “pop“ can be simple if you follow a couple simple steps.  I like to incorporate the coloring in the pictures into the scrapbook page layout.  Try finding a couple of contrasting colors within your pictures in which to choose paper colors for matting the pictures and making borders.

One simple scrapbooking page idea would be to decide if you wanted to single mat or double mat your pictures.  Keep in mind that if you are scrapping on white pages, that your bottom mat color isn’t too light or it could fade into the background instead adding that bit of “pop†to your scrap booking page layout.   This scenario is also true if your pictures have a very light background.  

An example I had was of pictures taken at the beach on an over-cast, hazy day.  The pictures of the water and the beach scenes had great depth and content, but we light and had lots of gray coloring.  When trying to use a light blue-green paper and it just made the pictures look washed out and uninteresting.  Alternatively I tried using a dark blue-green paper next to the same pictures and they just “poppedâ€.  I used the lighter color to double mat some of the pictures which would be mounted on top of a dark, patterned background paper.  

For this scrapbooking page idea I used the same patterned background paper, which has both of the mat colors in it to make a border at top of the page and towards the bottom of the facing page.  For additional color, a strip of the dark and/or the light solid colors can be added to the top and bottom of the border piece.  These simple ideas and designs provided the “pop†that I was looking for on these pages.

Digital scrapbooking page kits can really simplify the process of making a scrapbook. Not only do they simplify the process but you can also get free digital scrapbooking page kits and save a lot of time and money when making your scrapbooks. Rubber stamps are one of the various craft supplies that truly add that something additional to your scrapbook layouts. It is important to have the right materials to hand before you start stamping your scrapbook paper.
