Easy tips on making you bathroom look fabulous
We need our home to represent us, to make a good impression. Most of the times, the living room is the first to get a make over. We also pay extra attention to our bedroom, and our kitchen. The bathroom, always comes last. We look at it as a utilitarian space, a place of little importance. That’s not necessarily true. We always start the day there, and the last, before we go to bed. It should be a relaxing, calming place, seeing that we spend a bit of our time in it. We can give some good advice on how you can redecorate your bathroom look, to make it look like a million bucks. Here are a few steps to take if you want your bathroom look right out of a decorating magazine.
Try painting the entire room, including the ceiling. Choose bold, statement colors. Many people think that just because it’s a small room, you have to use light colors and plenty of mirrors to make it look bigger. That’s just a myth. Bold, rich colors can make an impact even in a small room.
Store all the knick knacks. Having all our cosmetics near the sink or on cabinets, might be very helpful and save is the trouble of looking for them in shelves. The bad part is that they also create a cluttered look and isn’t necessarily glamorous. Buy some nice storage boxes or trunks. Not only can they add an unexpected design element to your room, but they help you be organized and tidy. Put all the cosmetics in nicely decorated boxes and the entire look of the bathroom will change.
Decorate the mirror. It would be a shame not to transform the little space and decorating element you have, into focal points. Even if the mirror already has a frame or not, there’s always a way of improving it’s look. If you want to feel like a star, you can glue some crystals to the mirror edges, and get a very sophisticated look. When you want to be more formal, add some lumber to the mirror frames, to create a real wood look. For a more children friendly bathroom, get some Hello Kitty stickers, or even let your draw some flowers on the edges of the mirror . There’s no limit to what you can decorate the mirror with, you just need to be creative.
Redo your cabinets. Give your cabinets a totally new look, and you’re set for the next 2,3 years.Again, you can use your imagination and create any kind of look you want. You can paint them black for a more polished, sophisticated look. If you’re planning on giving your bathroom a country look, just use some white paint and a sponge, and get that used look. Be bold and use more colors, paint some cabinet doors black, others white, or any other color combination you like. The only thing you have to do is to clean the cabinets well before painting, use a special primer (BIN would be good ).
Finally, once you have completely changes your bathroom, it’s time for the last touch-ups. Choose little details, but with an impact. Candles of any color are always a good choice. Just imagine getting home after a long day of work and getting into a hot bath and relax by candle light. Shells are also a nice touch, if you want to achieve that nautical feel and bring back the sea in your house. Get some dollar store frames and put some nice pictures in. Change the shower curtain to a more trendy one, or get some plants. There’s really no need to spend a lot of money or hire a decorator, as long as you have imagination and some spare time. Enjoy!
